Floors that stay flat, quiet and dry

Most flooring problems — bounce, gaps, cracked tile — start under the floor. We fix low spots and weak subfloor before the new floor goes down.

Already bought your flooring? We estimated $1,800–$2,000 to install 450 square feet of customer-supplied laminate and reinstall reusable trim; removal and surface preparation were separate. On larger HHI jobs, LVP installation has run $3.00–$3.50 per square foot.

  • Subfloor inspection and leveling
  • Moisture-resistant prep for basements and bathrooms
  • Clean transitions and trim
  • Furniture moved and old flooring hauled away on request

Where remodels usually go wrong — and what we do instead

The stories every homeowner has heard from a neighbor. Here’s how we keep them from happening on your job.

Ghosted after the deposit

Cartoon: Ghosted after the deposit
The usual way

The deposit clears, then the calls stop. One crew is stretched across too many jobs, and your money is funding the job before yours.

Contractor reviewing a written estimate with a homeowner
How HHI does it

A written estimate, contract and start date before any deposit. Viktor owns the company and answers his own phone.

A two-week job turns into two months

Tile gets ordered after demolition, the crew leaves for another job, and you’re showering at the gym.

How HHI does it

Selections are confirmed and materials ordered before demolition, and we confirm the work schedule and first-use date with you before we start.

“We found something”

The usual way

A low bid wins the job, then the price climbs every time a wall comes down.

How HHI does it

If we open a wall and find damage, we stop, show you photos and price the fix in writing before doing anything extra.

The leak shows up next winter

Tile goes straight onto drywall or greenboard. It looks great for a year — then water finds the subfloor and the ceiling below.

Tiled showers get a waterproofing membrane on the walls, corners and drain. Tell us if you want to see it before tile goes up.

The usual way

No plastic, no floor protection, and a trail of debris from the front door to the bathroom.

Victor and his team began work immediately. Work was performed very quickly and qualitatively. Now I have a reliable roof over my head! Soon I plan to repair bathroom, which I trust only HHI . Contracted with HHI to install a 350ft aluminum fence. Pricing was very fair (we solicited several bids) but their responsiveness was what really sold us. They travelled from Mandan to Williston to do the install and completed the job in two days despite having to work around tree stumps, landscaping and my irrigation system. They were very professional and had a solution for every hiccup during the process. Very satisfied with the product, workmanship and service recieved.

What flooring jobs have cost with HHI

Installation, material, removal and floor prep are separate lines. These real HHI numbers keep each price with its scope.

What HHI pricedAmountWhat the number covered
LVP installation on larger jobs$3.00–$3.50 / sq. ft.Installation only, from separate 2026 proposals (click-lock and straight lay).Installation lines
1,540 sq. ft. straight-lay LVP, customer-supplied$5,390Labor only. Carpet removal, baseboards and stairs were priced separately.Labor line
450 sq. ft. laminate the homeowner had bought$1,800–$2,000Installation plus putting the existing trim back. No demolition, underlayment, transitions or leveling.Written estimate
1,200 sq. ft. vinyl over existing ceramic tile, Bismarck$6,550$4,000 installation + $2,550 prep package: prime and seal the tile, self-level up to 800 sq. ft., patch small areas. Vinyl and trim not included.Revised quote
LVP on stairs$175 / $300 per stepStandard / larger steps; a 14-step staircase came to $3,200 in labor.Labor lines

We don’t have a single HHI per-square-foot price for tile floors — tile size, pattern, substrate and demolition change it too much. Send the room size and a photo and we’ll price it. These are past HHI estimates in US dollars, shown with the scope they priced — not a quote for your home. Your project gets its own measured, written estimate.

Questions homeowners ask

What flooring is best for families and pets?

Many homeowners choose LVP for durability and easy cleaning. For wet areas, tile is usually the best long-term choice.

Can you install over my existing floor?

Sometimes. It depends on flatness, moisture, transitions and the manufacturer’s requirements. We’ll recommend the approach that lasts.

Why does my floor feel uneven or bouncy?

Usually subfloor issues — low spots, weak areas or past water damage. We fix the base so the new floor performs.

Can I buy the flooring myself?

Yes. Send the product label, floor area and photos. We check whether the existing surface can stay and specify removal, preparation and reusable trim in the quote.

How do you price flooring?

By square footage, prep work (leveling, subfloor repair), material and trim details — each as its own line. See the real HHI examples on this page, from a 450 sq. ft. laminate install to a 1,540 sq. ft. LVP job.
