General
Can you make my tub easier to get into?
Yes. We can replace a tub with a low-entry shower. Tell us whether a seat, handheld shower or grab bars would help. We check the opening, floor height and support before selecting the system.
It’s our only shower. How long will we be without it?
A straightforward conversion can take about 3–7 working days on site. A simple prefab installation can take about 2–3 working days once materials are on site. Before demolition we discuss toilet access and when the shower can first be used.
The leak looks dry. Should I still have it checked?
Yes. A dry carpet surface can hide damp padding or wall materials. We look at the affected layers and discuss the source, drying and repairs before covering them.
What should I send my insurer?
Ask your insurer what it needs. Keep dated photos, receipts, drying notes and our written repair estimate. Your insurer decides coverage.
Can you add a bedroom and bathroom downstairs?
Yes. We check the room layout, plumbing, access to mechanical equipment and the bedroom escape opening. Viktor coordinates the work included in the estimate.
Can I buy the flooring myself?
Yes. Send the product label, floor area and photos. We check whether the existing surface can stay and specify removal, preparation and reusable trim in the quote.
What changes the price?
Keeping plumbing in place can reduce cost. One Bismarck low-entry shower estimate was $14,500–$17,000 with selected materials. We show you any hidden damage and price the change before proceeding.

Can I compare financing?

What if I need service after the job?
Call HHI about the installation. We offer a one-year workmanship warranty and a free 12-month check-up. Product coverage depends on the manufacturer and the item installed.
How do I get an estimate?
Send your town, a few photos, rough measurements and what you want to change. We can discuss a preliminary budget and arrange a visit with Viktor to confirm the written scope.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Bismarck, Mandan, Lincoln and nearby communities. For projects farther away, send the town, photos and scope first. Viktor will discuss the budget and confirm whether we can schedule a visit.
How soon can you start my project?
We schedule interior remodels throughout the year. For excavation or a foundation, we review ground conditions, access and the crew schedule before setting dates.
Do you install tile-look panels?
Yes. We install prefab wall panels, some with a molded tile pattern, as well as custom tile.
Can you rebuild after another company dried the basement?
Yes, we can rebuild after another company handles the drying. Keep its notes and photos. We’ll inspect what is exposed and give you a written scope for the walls, flooring and trim.
Do you help with design and material selections?
Yes. We help you choose layouts, finishes and best-value options that fit your budget and style, and we confirm selections before ordering.
How do estimates and payments work?
Your estimate states the deposit, milestones and final balance. Ask the office which payment methods and fees apply to your invoice. Any additional work is priced and approved in writing.
Showers & bathrooms
How long does a shower remodel take?
For a straightforward prefab conversion, plan on about 2–3 working days once the materials are on site. For a broader tub conversion, 3–7 working days is a planning guide. We confirm the work schedule and first-use date for your bathroom before demolition.
How much does a shower remodel cost in Bismarck?
Viktor’s preliminary budget for an ordinary shower replacement is $5,000–$15,000. Changing the floor, the drain or a wall pushes it higher: one Bismarck estimate for a low-threshold panel shower came to $14,500–$17,000, including construction and a selection allowance. A wider shower in New Salem was estimated at $20,500–$23,500 because the plan moved a wall and a heater.
Panels or tile?
We install both. Grout-free panels have smooth or molded tile-look surfaces. With custom tile, you can choose the layout, niche and bench. We’ll compare the two systems for your opening.
How do you waterproof a tiled shower?
For a tiled shower, we identify the waterproofing system before installation — on our tiled showers that’s the Schluter® system. Ask how the seams, corners and drain are checked and when you can see them before tile is installed.
Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?
Yes. Keeping the drain in place can simplify a conversion. We check the new base against the existing opening, then confirm what needs moving and when the finished shower can be used.
Can you add a seat and grab bars?
Tell us where you need a handhold or a place to sit. We plan support behind the wall before it is closed and check the selected seat and bars against the shower system.
Will my home be dusty during demolition?
Before demolition we agree on dust protection, the walkway through your home and how the work area is cleaned up.
What warranty comes with a shower?

Flooring
What flooring is best for families and pets?
Many homeowners choose LVP for durability and easy cleaning; for wet areas, tile is usually the best long-term choice.
Why does my floor feel bouncy?
Usually subfloor issues — low spots, weak areas or past water damage. We fix the base so the new floor performs.
Basements
How do you handle basement moisture?
Tell us whether water has entered before and share any radon test or drying records. These findings can change the wall and floor plan before new finishes go in.
Do I need a permit to finish a basement?
Usually, yes. Tell us the property address — we identify the permitting office, discuss the required inspections, and state who will file and who pays the fees in your written scope.
